Mr. Chayoot Homdee, Community Development Officer, The Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), was invited to join “Regional Capacity-Building Workshop on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Process in Mido Hotel Bangkok” on 23 – 24 October 2025. This Workshop organized by Manushya Foundation, Young Pride Foundation, People's Movement to Eliminate Discrimination (MovED), Health and Opportunity Network (HON). Participation more than 30 people came from many stakeholders and regions.  The workshop aims to strengthen regional capacity on human rights processes through the UPR mechanism.

The Maliwan Foundation is holding its second operational meeting to support and prepare the community sector for Thailand's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process. This two-day gathering, a follow-up to four regional seminars in 2020, aims to finalize the UPR report and build the capacity of community leaders. The goal is to ensure the concerns of marginalized groups—including youth, Indigenous people, women, and stateless persons—are powerfully reflected in the review.

All 4 civil society gathered to setup workshop how UN UPR mechanism work.

In conclusion the workshop training went very well, Mr. Chayoot learned how UN UPR mechanism work, how to make fact sheets and way to submission. Including brainstorming to reform old disability policies during the workshop alongside to participants with disabilities. Finally, everyone got new networks with other stakeholders.
