APCD promotes disability and inclusive development. APCD’s training programs focuses on Community-based Inclusive Development, Disability Inclusive Business, Disability Inclusive Sports, and Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction. So far APCD have more than 3,000 Ex‐Participants from 40 countries in the Asia-Pacific Region.

60+Plus Bakery Cafe'&Chocolate

Initiative

Princess Sirindhorn

APCD, under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, advocates for disability-inclusive business in the food industry and aims to develop the inclusive business skills of persons with disabilities in society, as well as provide sustainable on-the-job training for them. We take pride in the intent of the youth with diverse disabilities making delicious baked goods and chocolate for our customers.

60+ Plus Bakery by Yamazaki has been initiated by collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand, Embassy of Japan, Thai-Yamzaki Co.ltd., and APCD. Specialized and delicious baked goods are made to serve our customers.  Youths with disabilities can be trained to make and sell baked goods at the shop

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chocolate Training

Chocolatier by MarkRin

60 + Plus Chocolatier by MarkRin has been initiated by APCD and MarkRin Co., Ltd. In order to develop skills in the food industry sector. Premium cocoa beans from Thai farmers are transformed into delightful tasting chocolates. Now 60 + Plus Chocolatier by MarkRin has become the favorite among chocolate lovers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hotel Service Training

Hotel training

The APCD Training Building aims to be the first inclusive hotel training center in Thailand operated by persons with disabilities. Through a collaboration with the Hyatt Regency Hotel Bangkok and support from Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, APCD launched the Inclusive Skills Development Training in Hotel Industry at the APCD Training Building in 2019. Upon finishing their training, the trainees are expected to work at hotels across the country that practice DIB and are at need of staff with disabilities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café @Baan Rajvithi

60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café @Baan Rajvithi

The original 60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café in the compound of Rajvithi home for the girls where APCD is located, has been established in the end of December 2018. So far it becomes role model of café shop for empowering persons with diverse persons with disabilities. Visitors to APCD could enjoy various bakery with coffee and chocolate menus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate @Government House

Government House

The 60+ Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café has become an important role model for DIB, and is widely admired both in Thailand and internationally. As a result of this success, APCD has been invited to open another branch of 60+ Café in the Government House. The opening of this café will allow for an increased number of training and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, while also ensuring that customers in the Government House are able to enjoy a variety of food and drinks made by persons with disabilities.

APCD in collaboration with the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) implements Disability-Inclusive Business (DIB) through 60+ Plus Disability-Inclusive Kitchen.  It is to promote and increase employment opportunities for PWDs through Capacity Building and Development of the Public-Private Partnership Concept in Economic theory in food business.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Buakaew Brew by APCD at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

uakaew Brew by APCD at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs“Buakaew Brew by APCD” is the joint initiative of the Ministry and APCD to promote inclusive business in line with the Thai Government’s “leave no one behind” policy and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). APCD is a foundation under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to provide training in the bakeries and drinks business to people with disabilities so they can support themselves financially.

Buakaew Brew by APCD is ready to serve coffee, beverages and pastries for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s staff as well as the visitors and members of the diplomatic corps. The business model operates in accordance with the concept of Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG).

Networking and collaboration are significant missions of APCD. APCD believes that the key successful factor to move disability and development programmes is creating a win-win situation and making sure the international, national and community levels have been harmonized.

APCD has substantial experience in development of networks for Community-based  Rehabilitation Asia-Pacific Network (Network of organizations and countries which are working on Community-based Rehabilitation and Community-based Inclusive Development program in the Asia-Pacific Region), ASEAN Autism Network (network of family support groups who have children with autism in ASEAN countries), United Intellectual Disability Mekong sub-region Network (network of self-advocate persons with intellectual disabilities in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand) and Asia-Pacific Federation of Hard of Hearing and Deafened (Network of organizations of persons with persons who are hard of hearing and/or deaf in Asia-Pacific).

APCD has significant collaborations on implementing programmes/projects/activities with various organizations to promote social inclusion. Main focus areas are Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID), Disability-Inclusive Sports (DIS) and Disability-Inclusive Business (DIB).

Mushroom activity

We plan to initiate the new approach on Disaster Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DiDRR) in the near future.

Currently, we are implementing the ASEAN Autism Mapping Project which aims to contribute to the promotion and protection of the rights and empowerment of persons with autism in the ASEAN region. This will be done through a mapping of the situation of persons with autism in the ASEAN region and developing country profiles. 
The main expected outcomes of the project are:

1. A regional document ‘Autism at a Glance’ by compiling all 10 country profiles on autism.

2. Raising awareness activities on autism at the national and regional levels were conducted.

3. Policy recommendations in protecting and promoting the rights and empowerment of persons with autism.
