APCD Visits Universal Foundation for Persons with Disabilities for Study Visit and Learning Exchange
On 18 June 2026, The Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) recently conducted a study visit to the Universal Foundation for Persons with Disabilities to gain a deeper understanding of the foundation’s history, mission, and initiatives in promoting the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
During the visit, APCD representatives learned about various programs and services implemented by the foundation, including Yimsoo Cafe and vocational training programs for persons with disabilities, such as no-bake bakery training and Japanese cooking training. These initiatives aim to enhance vocational skills, promote self-reliance, and expand employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The delegation also received information on the Thailand Telecommunication Relay Service (TTRS Thailand), which facilitates communication accessibility for persons with hearing and speech disabilities through relay communication services, contributing to greater inclusion and equal access to information and communication.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Pavarut Rungarunsunthon, Public Relations Officer, who provided valuable insights into the foundation’s work, achievements, and ongoing efforts to foster a more inclusive society.
The study visit served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and learning from good practices in disability-inclusive development. The experience will contribute to APCD’s continued efforts to enhance opportunities, improve quality of life, and promote the full participation of persons with disabilities in society.
