The Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) welcomed the production team from the Smuthkochorn TV program. The visit focused on capturing footage for an upcoming feature promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The collaboration among the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP) under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of the Royal Thai Government, the Smuthkochorn TV program, and APCD aims to raise awareness about disability rights and showcase the center's efforts in fostering an inclusive society. This initiative aligns with APCD ongoing mission to empower persons with disabilities and promote their full participation in all aspects of community life.

The television program is expected to highlight APCD various programs and initiatives, demonstrating practical approaches to creating a more accessible and equitable environment for persons with disabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Dipak Natali, Managing Director of Special Olympics Asia Pacific, delivered a powerful speech titled "Breaking Barriers: Reducing Inequalities Through Sports & Inclusive Practices."

Mr. Watcharapol wrapped up the session by introducing APCD's ongoing DIS activities.

The key partners launched UN ESCAP Disability-Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction E-Learning Tool in Kathmandu, Nepal on 27 June 2024. 

Panel discussion was organized for the meaningful event. Ms. Aiko Akiyama, UN ESCAP/ Ms.Thitiporn Phringphloed, AMIT/ and Mr. Somchai Rungsilp, APCD also participated as panelists.

Mr. Daisuke Maruichi, UN ESCAP shared information about Overview of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Asia and Pacific and Nepal at the beginning of the launching event.

Ms. Aiko Akiyama, UN ESCAP talked about Overview of Persons with Disabilities in Asia and Pacific in the event.
