APCD attended the meeting between ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on Monday 28 August 2023 at Vie Hotel Bangkok

Ms. Usana Berananda, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs and Prof. Amara Pongsapich, Representative of Thailand to the AICHR delivered welcome remarks and provided information about Human Rights in ASEAN Framework.

Collecting the information regarding promotion and protection of human rights in the ASEAN region as well as brainstorming on drafting vision document of ASEAN Community after 2025 were main purposes of the meeting. More than 60 Civil Society Organizations attended the meeting

APCD participated in an interview session on the Evaluation of Japan's ODA to the Kingdom of Thailand on August 29, 2023, at the APCD Administration Office in Bangkok, Thailand.

APCD Executive Director, Mr. Piroon Laismit, met with the evaluators’ team from the International Development Center of Japan Inc. (IDCJ) for the Evaluation of Japan's ODA to the Kingdom of Thailand. The team was led by Dr. Ryo SASAKI and Ms. Yukiko Sueyoshi, who represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA). He also had a group photo with the evaluators.

Mr. Piroon expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the support and cooperation from Japan.

The evaluators’ team interviewed Mr. Watcharapol Chuengcharoen, Chief of Networking and Collaboration, to learn more about APCD TCTP 2017 – 2019's activities and achievements. He shared his insights and experiences on working with various stakeholders in the disability sector.
