On 6 June 2025, the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), in partnership with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP) hosted the 2nd Project Advisory Board Meeting for the Initiating Disability-Inclusive Employment and Business (DIB Thailand Project). Held at APCD, the meeting brought together advisory board members to review the project’s progress and strategic direction, aiming to develop a comprehensive policy to promote inclusive employment and business models throughout Thailand.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on shaping policy recommendations, further developing a policy suitable for the Thai context in accordance with global frameworks, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and decent work principles, to promote effective employment for people with disabilities. Participants also explored legal and practical challenges in various parts and sectors of Thailand, proposed actionable strategies for both the public and private sectors, and emphasized the importance of collaboration among multiple stakeholders to achieve a long-term, meaningful impact.
This session marked a significant advancement in the implementation of the DIB Thailand Project, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities and its continuous support for the objectives of project.
